So, while I imagine this song was likely intended to be an adult couple relationship song, the generic lyrics actually remind me of how I feel as a parent with my kids. As such,I dedicated it to my entire family a few years back, and that remains my own personal meaning I've attached to it. Anyway...enjoy!!
